TDD 15: Warning! Are You Feeling the Adverse Effects of Isolation?

Many of us have been prompted into social isolation when Covid hit

And though a lot of us took this well, for some, it was the start of what we can only call a “tough time.”

 

Being alone does not necessarily mean being lonely

 

But isolation is a different thing

 

It can be a silent killer of hopes and dreams

 

And can lead to a plethora of health consequences including anxiety, depression, and cognitive decline.

Coping with the adverse effects of isolation isn’t easy

And if we’re not careful, it can get the best of us.

Dealing with these tough times can be one of the most challenging things to do

I’ve been through tough times

Even before Covid locked us in our homes and forced us to be isolated 

I’ve been in tough situations

Situations that got me complaining

Situations that I dealt with negatively.

But one thing I’ve learned

Is that there’s a way to make coping with these situations more easily

Even isolation

And it’s not rocket science.

It’s as simple as changing our mindset and understanding that things happen for a reason.

We’ll be amazed at how it can impact our life and allow us to grow

And how it can make even the shittiest situation seem more bearable.

Then we can focus on learning from the experience–

Whatever it is!

This kind of perspective fills us with positivity and hope

It lets us succeed in areas we didn’t even know we could conquer

And help make everything make sense, so that we can have the peace of mind we need.
